Tracee Ellis Ross is launching a new phase of her Pattern Beauty haircare line. On Monday, Ross teased phase two of Pattern, which debuted its first collection in September 2019. "As we continue to protest and gather and strategize and hold those in power accountable and reimagine our future and vote, I am reminded that celebrating Black beauty is a part of this revolution," Ross said in a message to her 8.3 Instagram followers. "And I’m reminded of the urgency that propelled me to persist for 10 years to create Pattern."

Phase two will focus on a new styling collection designed to sculpt, shape, and define curls and coils with nearly 15 new products and kits. The new drop includes a hydrating mist that's referred to as "nectar of the gods," holding gels, styling creams, edge control, and new additions to the shower line. "It’s always been the plan to bring styling products to Pattern. Curlies, coilies and tight textures know our hair, the types of products that work for us, and what we want. We’ve been listening, and it’s been great incorporating feedback into the development of these new products. I’m super proud of how the brand and our community have come together as we continue to fulfill the beauty needs of the natural hair community,” Ross said in a statement.

The new drop is available on June 19 or Juneteenth, which honors the day slavery formally ended in the U.S. In her announcement of the new phase, Ross spoke about the power in having a Black-owned business during a major moment in the Black Lives Matter movement. "I’m reminded the importance of being a Black-owned business and of why Pattern has been centered around the beauty of Blackness from the start," Ross explained. "I’m reminded of the importance of being an active space where we can see ourselves. And our humanity. And our joy. And our glory. And our softness. And our strength."
