For as long as it’s been on, Game of Thrones has been plagued with script leaks and illegal downloads. Even JAY-Z recently admitted to feeling “guilty” about watching a leaked episode. “What do you want me to do? People bootleg my album,” he told the BBC. “I’m owed a little bit.” Fair enough, but if HBO has its way, Jay and millions of GoT fans might have some trouble coming across leaks for the eighth and final season.

According to Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, or Jaime Lannister as you probably know him, scripts will no longer be sent to the cast digitally, a move that was previously used to prevent hard-copies from leaking. “We’re not even going to get the script,” he said (via The Associated Press), adding that actors in each Season 8 scene will be fed dialogue through earpieces.

It’s too early to tell whether or not this is a bad idea, but it’s definitely risky, especially when there are just six episodes left to film. Most importantly, how will anyone deliver epic speeches if there’s someone constantly whispering in their earpiece?

Filming for Season 8 recently commenced, but no air date has been announced. Let's just hope this earpiece dialogue ploy won't further delay our return to Westeros.
