According to TMZ, law enforcement sources confirmed to them that the Glee actress's body has been recovered. This follows Thursday's announcement that the search-and-rescue mission had become a "search-and-recovery operation."

The Wrap also reports that it was told by the sheriff's department that Rivera was pronounced dead today after her body was recovered from the lake where she went missing.

During a press conference, law enforcement confirmed these reports and gave detail on where Rivera was found. "Today our search teams have recovered a body in the lake," the sheriff said. "Based on the location where the body was found, physical characteristics of the body, clothing found on the body, and the physical condition of the body, as well as the absence of any other person who was reported missing in the area, we are confident the body we found is that of Naya Rivera. She was found in a northeastern portion of the lake, near the surface of the water. The depth of the water in that area is between 35 and 60 feet deep and there’s heavy brush and trees on the lake bed there."

Rivera was reported missing on Wednesday after boarding a boat with her four-year-old son Josey. After the boat was overdue for return, staff discovered her son alone and asleep on board, with Rivera nowhere to be found. She was 33-years-old.

The news comes hours after E! published a new interview with Ventura County Sheriff's Capt. Eric Buschow on the investigation, before his office announced news of a body being found.

"We are confident, based on the circumstances, she was not a victim of foul play. There is no indication of this being an abduction or a homicide," Buschow told the outlet. "There is also nothing to indicate it was a suicide either."

He added that Rivera's four-year-old son Josey, who had been with her, helped with the investigation. "Kids that age, they are going to be very matter of fact in providing information," Buschow said. "And he was. He was able to provide information that was very helpful to investigators."
