It took less than 24 hours for the President of the United States, Donald Trump, to respond to Taylor Swift endorsing two Democratic Congressional candidates in Tennessee. Swift, of course, has previously made headlines for being silent about her personal politics, particularly during the 2016 election. She explained in her Instagram post that the past two years—during which Trump has been in office—changed her mind about keeping her political views private.

"In the past I’ve been reluctant to publicly voice my political opinions, but due to several events in my life and in the world in the past two years, I feel very differently about that now," she started. "I always have and always will cast my vote based on which candidate will protect and fight for the human rights I believe we all deserve in this country."

Trump was patronizing as ever when a Daily Mail reporter asked him about Swift's comments outside the White House. He particularly took issue with Swift saying Marsha Blackburn's voting record "appalls and terrifies me" because of the damage she has done to women and the LGBTQ community among other groups, as Blackburn is the Republican Senate candidate he endorsed.

"I'm sure Taylor Swift has nothing, or doesn't know anything about her," Trump said. "And let's say that I like Taylor's music about 25 percent less now, okay?" He added with a grin, Daily Mail noted. Trump, only 75 percent of a Swiftie now after insulting Swift's intelligence and the research she did on her state election's candidates. No loss.

As Splinter pointed out, Trump has long been a fan.
