Selena Gomez made a rare move tonight: The singer directly addressed speculation that she could be reconciling with Krost fashion line founder Samuel Krost, her ex-boyfriend from early 2016, just because they were seen at the same New York City restaurant on Tuesday night. Gomez dined with a group of friends at La Esquina in Soho, and Krost was photographed arriving there shortly after with his own group. Daily Mail headlined it, "Selena Gomez EXCLUSIVE: Singer reunites with ex boyfriend Samuel Krost in NYC... three years after singer 'dated' fashion executive."

Gomez wrote on her Instagram Story that any tabloids creating a dating rumor out of this is overselling it. Nothing is happening between her, Krost, or anyone. She is single. "I am not dating anyone," she wrote. "I've been single for two years. I'm on God's timing, not mine."

Gomez then shared a photo of herself in track pants from Krost's clothing line, writing, "Bye." The pants literally say, "Support Your Friends." And they're a nice sartorial way of saying exes can become supportive friends too with time.

Gomez was photographed wearing the pants at JFK airport. The singer left New York City today, after doing over two days of press there to support her new singles "Lose You to Love Me" and "Look at Her Now."

Gomez spoke in an interview with Zach Sang last Friday about how she is open to dating someone again who she can build a healthy relationship with. "I've been super, super single for two years and I want to know what that love will look like next for me," she said. "I want it to be real and I don't want it to be codependent, or messy, or lack of communication. When you get older, you find people who are actually right for you, that are actually on the same wavelength."
