Beyoncé performed an abridged version Lemonade—as in, the entire album—at tonight's 2016 VMAs, starting with an emotional "Pray You Catch Me":
She then went into "Hold Up," complete with her album's intro: "I tried to change. Closed my mouth more, tried to be softer, prettier, less awake. Fasted for 60 days, wore white, abstained from mirrors..." She added a "I want you all to help me to sing this song," because this is Lemonade live:
And then went into "Sorry":
She finished her performance with "Don't Hurt Yourself" and "Formation." "Thank you, God," she said after the last notes. And the audience lost it:
Beyoncé last performed at the VMAs in 2014, giving an incredible 17-minute show. This topped it.
