Hillary Clinton just released the title of her new campaign memoir, and it's as straightforward as it gets: What Happened. And after the bananas election that was 2016, that's the question everyone wants answered, anyway. And according to new details from the book, it looks like it'll have the real talk we so desperately wanted during the campaign.

Hillary Clinton's new campaign memoir, What Happenedpinterest

A press release promises the book will "reveal what she was thinking and feeling" during the election, in what will be "her most personal memoir yet." Previously, Clinton was constrained by the prospects of running for president, but now she doesn't have that problem. "In the past, for reasons I try to explain, I've often felt I had to be careful in public, like I was up on a wire without a net," she writes in her book's introduction. "Now I'm letting my guard down."

The book will cover what it was like to run against Trump, her campaign mistakes, and how she has dealt with the shock of losing. "With humor and candor, she tells readers what it took to get back on her feet—the rituals, relationships, and reading that got her through, and what the experience has taught her about life," the press release notes. She'll also directly address the sexist responses to her campaign, and the criticism she received over her voice, age, and appearance. And, of course, she'll get into Russia's election meddling.

The book will be released September 12. Here's hoping it goes beyond the typical politician's memoir that doesn't actually say much. It's 2017, and the rules have changed—so her book should, too.
