Update, 8/16: TMZ, one of Thomas Markle's preferred outlets to speak to, is now reporting that Thomas's daughter Samantha Grant's tweet claiming he's starting a clothing line is false. The only credible thing in her posts, the outlet claims, is that Thomas does indeed like to wear hoodies.

Original, 8/15: Meghan Markle's dad Thomas Markle is trying to make more money off his daughter's name by starting a...fashion line. Page Six is reporting that Meghan's half-sister Samantha Grant tweeted about his plans on her private account this morning. “So excited about my father’s new #clothing line for men!” Grant wrote. “Will keep you posted!” The outlet has a screenshot to back up its report.

Thomas has previously profited off Meghan, his now royal daughter, by giving interviews about her to British tabloids and TMZ without informing her and against her and Prince Harry's wishes. The two haven't spoken since the wedding, and Thomas's shaming her for it has been incessant in interview after interview. A friend of Meghan described the Duchess of Sussex as being fed up with her father's emotional blackmail and deeply hurt by it.

But a fashion line! What will he call it? TheTigsDad, in remembrance of his daughter's old lifestyle site, The Tig? Will the fashion line grow into a lifestyle site too, where Thomas himself blogs about Meghan still refusing to talk to him, her poor old man? Will he make staged pap strolls wearing his line and gazing longingly at photos on a computer of his duchess daughter? Will he try to send samples of the line to Kensington Palace for Prince Harry to wear and then tell the world about the couple ignoring that too? It all seems so predictable. But he'll keep talking and doing things like this even after people and outlets stop listening, because it seems preserving his relationship with Meghan matters less to him than making money off of it.
