The Queen has arrived in Norfolk today, meaning the rest of the royal family—including Meghan Markle and Prince Harry—has already traveled from London to Queen Elizabeth II's Sandringham estate, where protocol dictates the Queen be the last to arrive. While it was initially unclear where the Duke and Duchess of Sussex would be staying this Christmas, the two will be at Sandringham House for the first time together this year, a royal source told ELLE.com. Last year, Meghan and Harry stayed with Kate Middleton and Prince William at their nearby Anmer Hall home, which is three miles from the Queen's home and on the Sandringham grounds.

At that point, Meghan was not yet a member of the royal family, and her invitation to Christmas at Sandringham alone as just Harry's fiancée made headlines for being exceptional. Typically, only spouses of royal members are invited. But this year, as a duchess, Meghan is being given full royal family member treatment and the privilege of staying at the Queen's home with her husband for their first married Christmas.

Christmas festivities for the royal family started yesterday with the Queen's pre-Christmas lunch at Buckingham Palace. All members were photographed driving to the Palace. For that occasion, Meghan wore diamond earrings by Cartier, a black cape coat, and an Erdem dress she first wore on the Today show in January 2016, as People pointed out.
