A new character is coming to Riverdale, and she apparently will cause "trouble" between Betty and Jughead, Entertainment Tonight reports. Toni Topaz will be played by The Shannara Chronicles' Vanessa Morgan.

"Toni Topaz is a character who was added on a little more recently in the comic books and she's always been very, very vivacious, exciting and a bit of a disrupter," Riverdale executive producer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa told ET. "She very famously has as large an appetite for hamburgers as Jughead Jones. In the Riverdale version of this character, she's going to be a student at Southside High. She's going to be a member of the Southside Serpents, and she's going to be a friend and confidant to Jughead Jones."

Two of Toni's traits from the Archie Comics world will be brought onto the TV show: Toni is bisexual and rocks her signature pink hair.

Roberto hinted that Toni's presence could shake up Bughead's relationship.

"Bughead is pretty strong, and pretty undeniable, and pretty epic, but you know even the most epic of romances has trouble—and trouble often comes as a third party," he said. "So yes, it is conceivable that Toni will potentially test the limits of Bughead."

Need more proof? Actress Lili Reinhart, who plays Betty, dropped a prettttty strong hint that Bughead will be on the rocks for season two while at San Diego Comic-Con this past weekend.

"Pray for Bughead," she said, reportedly clasping her hands together dramatically. "Season two is a split between Riverdale itself, so it affects Betty and Jughead's relationship. Them being at separate schools...it takes its toll. It becomes a Romeo and Juliet situation."

Jughead will be heading to Southside High, while Betty will remain at Riverdale High.

So yeah, this love triangle thing is starting to shape up to be a legit theory. Take your first look at Riverdale's season two below.
