Selena Gomez returned to Instagram last night to pay tribute to her mother Mandy Teefey and her 4-year-old sister Gracie Elliot Teefey. Gomez switched her profile picture to one of her mother when she was her age and posted a pic of them together when Gomez was first born.
Teefey gave birth to Gomez when she was just 16, so in the photo, Teefey is just a teenager.
Gomez also shared a very personal but touching moment with her sister. "I’m not scared," her sis tells her in the clip.
"I know, because you’re fearless, right? You’re not scared of anything, right?"
Gomez made it clear in her caption that raising her sister to be empowered and fearless is of paramount importance to her. "I will forever let my sister know she is strong, bold and beautiful," Gomez wrote. "She will be raised to know her voice matters. She is going to understand the importance behind being a leader and inspire others by her truth."
